Payzone, the leading European consumer payments and cash distribution network, has signed an agreement with Globalcell, the new pre-paid mobile communication service, to offer mobile top up. The new service has been designed specifically to suit the needs of East European migrant workers based in the UK and will be available from the end of September at 20,000 Payzone retailers.
Globalcell is the only mobile service in the UK that offers prepaid SIM cards in four Eastern Europe languages: Polish, Russian, Lithuanian, Slovak and in English. Bulgarian, Romanian, Latvian and Czech languages will soon be available. GlobalCell is offering free calls to 333 - its Helpdesk and Information line; where customers can obtain information about life and work in the UK, assistance with their mobile service or answers to almost any question they care to ask in their native language.
Paul Charmatz, Managing Director of Payzone said: "Since 2004, 875,000 Eastern Europeans have applied to work in the UK. The Payzone network offers retailers an opportunity to tap into this extensive market through a range of convenient services like mobile top up, utility bill payment and money transfers that are commonly used by this demographic."
Rochus Schreiber, Managing Director of Globalcell said: "We are delighted to be offering mobile top up on Payzone terminals. We believe using Payzone’s network of over 20,000 retailers puts us in a strong position to reach our customer base. We have every confidence that this will help maximise mobile top up transactions."
